A Few Back-to-School Prep Tips

September might feel a way off yet, but for some children a little early preparation can make all the difference. A few small things to try over the coming weeks:

  • Read a transition book together - simple record of what to expect helps make September feel familiar rather than frightening.

  • Add key September dates to a visual calendar - seeing what's coming, and when, gives your child a sense of control over the changes ahead.

  • Let your child choose one new school item - it builds a sense of ownership and excitement, turning September into something to look forward to rather than dread.
