The most recent national audit revealed critical insights into the special educational needs landscape in England:
Key Statistics:
Total SEN Students: 1,624,105 students (16.5% of all students)
Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans: 532,170 students
SEN Support Category: 1,091,935 students
EHC Plan Demand Growth
2015: 202,600 EHC plans
2024: 532,170 EHC plans
Total Increase: 162.9% growth in EHC plans since 2015
